A Bit of Wildlife

Along the first part of our journey we have had great wildlife viewing. Before we shove off again I wanted to share some photos from the first part of the expedition.

Bald Eagle near the shore - we saw over a hundred eagles fishing near the shore on the first section.

Pile of harbor seals on Eldred Rock light.

Humpback whale diving for food. One of our campsites was near a narrow pass, and we sat on the beach and watched humpbacks feeding for a couple hours. It was quite a show.

Pigeon guillemot - we saw flocks of hundreds of these birds flying low over the water on the Lynn Canal.

Oystercatcher foraging on the beach - we had pairs of these at most campsites.

Some horses from a nearby camp roaming the tidal meadow we were camped on.
